Has anyone else ever noticed this?

I have a 14 month old son at home. He's walking pretty much all the time now. I've noticed that when he squats down to play or pick up something his form is absolutely perfect! Weight is balanced right over his heels or the middle of his feet, which are pretty small at this point, his shins are pretty much perpendicular to the floor. His back is flat as a pancake, his shoulders are back. He goes past parallel pretty much down until his butt touches his calves. Perfect balance! AMAZING!!

How does he know how to do this? Better yet, why do I have to spend so much time & effort trying to copy that form? Either doing bodyweight squats for warm up or regular squats?

Any of you other parents noticed this? I've been told I'll be learning a lot from having a kid, but squat form...AWESOME!

My guess is that he has learned to squat correctly by doing it the hard way....he either does it this way or he falls over! simple!

We, as we get older, tend to find "easier" ways of doing things....cheating by using other muscles groups, depending on a "strong" back so we can sacrafice good form. We tend to forget what we instinctively learned as a child.

I suspect centre of balance has something to do with it as well. It's much different in a young child than a grown adult.
