Kind of Blue by Miles Davis. Need to get a new copy, it's sounding kind of worn.

I'm thinking the video is better than the song.

I saw a picture of Rachel Hunter in USA Today on Tuesday, and that song immediately kicked into my head.

Cassandra Wilson, "Glamoured."

Personally, I think she's one of the most gifted jazz/blues singers currently recording.

I wanted to say something along those lines, but thought better of it.

Like JJ, I've got my iPod. But recently I've been listening to Late Registration by Kanye West as well as Get Lifted by John Legend.

Did you know both Kanye & Fiona use producer Jon Brion?

And I'm going to see Jon tommorrow - connections!

In my player at the moment:
rough mixes of the upcoming "slowly coming along" by LA hiphop group Fresh Air Hear them here

"Prairie Wind" by Neil Young

"Momentum" by the Joshua Redman Elastic Band

John Legend "Ordinary People" Aloe Blacc latin remix 12" (that one doesn't fit in my CD player)

I got to meet Joe Diffie backstage at a concert I worked security at back in '93 or '94 when I was stationed in Alabama at Redstone Arsenal. Got a couple autographs and a guitar pick. Real nice guy, we talked for several minutes after the show.

My CD player bought the farm so I bought an iPod (1gb shuffle). I built a playlist, several actually, and rotate through them. Beats the heck out of radio (which isn't happening up here) and was cheaper than replacing the CD changer. My work car only has AM/FM so I bought a transmitter for it that allows me to pipe the music in over FM, sounds ok and beats the heck out of having to do w/o music.

Kid Rock - right now it's Devil w/out a Cause but I really liked "kid rock" too.

*edit* although just a little bit ago it was CCR's greatest hits.
