I'm going to a Halloween party on Friday and I need some ideas for a costume. Preferably cheap and clever.

Also I think everyone that's gets dressed up for Halloween should post there pics and we can decide who has the best costume.

hmmm... I just got some cheap white face paint at Walyworld and a wig. Going as a vampire. Lame, but cheap. Pics? Hmmmm.. that's not a bad idea.

Don't know about clever but certainly cheap: I bought rain ponchos at the Dollar Store and a bag plastic fish. Got all the bubble wrap out of the garage and from work, cut it into thin strips then attach to rain poncho...voila jellyfish tentacles. Wrap a couple of fish up in the tenacles and there you go. We're wearing them in the mud run this weekend. Cheap enough to be disposable and might even help keep us clean-er. Now if we had thought ahead we would have made one Spongebob costume so he could chase us around jellyfishing.

If I remember right it was something about a broken door/window and a shard of glass... pretty scary.

Holy crap, Erika, when did Ethan start growing up so fast? My son is four months old now... makes me realize how quickly life moves.

Cool. I found some pink bubble wrap at work, it adds a little more dimension I think. GO for it. The other idea for that one was to hang them from a clear umbrella to make the bell of the jellyfish but who wants to carry an umbrella around all night?

just Papaloads said, a Seinfeld thing -

"Have you ever met a proctologist? They usually have a very good sense of humor. You meet a proctologist at a party, don't walk away. Plant yourself there because you will hear the funniest stories you've ever heard. See, no one wants to admit to them that they stuck something up there. Never. It's always an accident. Every proctologist story ends in the same way... 'It was a million to one shot, doc, million to one.' "

Alex, thanks for the rest of that skit, put it in context!

ODB's Girl - What about one of those umbrella's that you wear on your head? then you can just hang strips of plastic down with the fake fish in it... Do you need bubble wrap? would regular plastic acheive the same effect? Does color matter?

PS: last year I was a lifeguard, and my friend greg was Waldo of "where's waldo?" fame. The dude in the middle, matt, is supposed to be a pirate.

Color doesn't but I'd definatly go for the bubble wrap. You can pick up a roll pretty cheap if you don't have some already. I thought about those umbrella hats but couldn't find any in the stores.

ODBSGirl - Not to be a pain in the ass, BUT... what makes bubble wrap preferable? If i find the head umbrella's at a national chain, i'll let you know

The bubbles give it a more 3D effect. They look awesome. There will be photos. This is just for the mudrun race. We will have something else for our Halloween party. Halloween is so cool.
