if computers could adapt like humans? Everyday, i come home and turn on my laptop and proceed to open up firefox and AIM. Now, last year my laptop would be on and ready to go in like 1-2 minutes. But, this year, they split our laptops into 2 drives (C: and E and it takes like 5 minutes at the fastest to just turn on and get ready to go. I do other stuff while its booting up but it does get annoying. Wouldn't it be awesome if a computer could recognize the normal stuff you do and get faster as you do them regularly? Yea, well I'm kinda bored and thats my ingenious idea.

Maybe next time i get bored, i'll explain my ingenious idea of a washable clothes dye.

if anything that would make your computer faster.

actually the computer already does do what you are talking about:

-your history
-auto login for websites(you dont have to type your user name and password everytime you go to JP fitness right?)
-programs that you use a lot get cached faster
-you can set precedence to programs you want to run faster
-you can tell your comp to start up and have aim and IE open to jp fitness if you want
-the list goes on for what seems like forever.

Good Point PL. But splitting into 2 drives gets annoying when one is only about 16 Gigs and the other only about 21 gigs. Especially when the home side is the smaller one. So i only have less than 2 gigs left on that side but about 12 gigs left on the school side. I know i could store stuff on the school side but then getting to it is a pain.

I'm not familiar with some of the stuff you said but its not opening programs thats the problem. IT's actually turning the laptop on, then waiting for the screen to decide which windows to run (school or home) and then waiting for that to load up. All in all, it takes about 5 minutes until i can start opening programs.

Anything i can do about this?
