A girl from school called me up the other day. Apparently she works for a radio station, and through some deal with one of the venues here in MA gets free tickets to stuff.

So she asked me if I want to go to Ozzfest with her! She's even going to come pick me up!

We both have to work, but we're going late afternoon. I'll be seeing the original lineups of Slayer, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath!

Guess it sometimes pays to be a gym-stud.

Due to the fantastic reponse of the original post ( ) I believe a followup post is called for.

Last night was the night. Great show!

Slayer was excellent, though their sound guy could've been better. Sounded like one of the guitars was way louder than the other.

Judas Priest was AMAZING! I never really knew that much about them, just a few well-known songs. But MAN, they rocked!

Black Sabbath was cool and dissapointing at the same time. It was great to be able to watch the godfathers of my favorite genre of music, and Tony Iommi is still a great guitarist. However, Ozzy (as enthusiastic as he may be) is very sad to watch. He hobbles, then attempts to sing (forgetting at least 1/3 of the lyrics) and then pitifully jumps in place... EVERY song. Oh well, he's paying for all of the 'fun' he had when he was younger.

The girl I was with was very nice. However, she unfortunately polished off quite a bit of beer before Priest had even finished their set. Very unattractive. That's ok though. I had fun anyway. She DID boost my ego a little by saying "No, you'd look good with a tatoo. You have nice arms from working out."

Too bad that Ozzy is too far gone to perform near his peak anymore. Black Sabbath would be a great show if they fire on all cylinders. They're one of the most influential metal bands of all time.

At least Judas Priest was good. Their music is great for workouts.
