I was wondering if it may be a good idea to have everyone's photos on this site. I have been checking profiles and most do not have any photos... Also, most profiles have no credentials of the individuals posting.
I would personally like to know the credentials of someone giving me advice (one is certainly more inclined to listen to a professional than to someone with no experience/well-rounded knowledge of fitness). Also, I am personally more inclined to listen to someone's advice who is in shape, rather than to someone who is not fit (meaning... if someone's knowledge is superb, he/she should look great if he/she executes his/her strategy well)...
Ideas?
Anna ;o)

I suggested a profile forum as well in the distant past, but JP either shot it down or was too busy. In another forum a bunch of us were on (now defunct), we had a profile page where we could post pics, diet plans, workouts, etc. It was nice. I wish I had my pics from that page, since I had a decent build back then!
I guess we have links where we can post pics (like you did! ), and that will serve for now. I tried to get a pics link going in the bike section, but we only got a few responses - however, most of the riders have posted pics/links somewhere in this forum, so we all know what the other cyclists look like.
The guys with credentials are loathe to blow their own trumpet, so here is a thread I put up long ago regarding who they are. Check it out: http://forums.jpfitness.com/cgi-bin/...=000452#000000 I'm missing Lou Schuler and Adam Campbell, both CSCSs and both current or former editors of national fitness magazines. Include them in your list of experts.
Plus we have a medical doctor, Russ, and a medical researcher, BryanC, who know a lot about medicine and the human body.
Anna, you are polite to a fault. Thank you for being such a positive force in our otherwise sometimes cynical forum. I sense a turnaround on the forum for the better between your relentless upbeat attitude and Mahler's motivational posts. Feels good and will keep us from becoming like the constant attacking mentality of either the MH or t-mag forums.

Kaiser is also bashful....I found this pic during a recent search:
I want to echo the sentiments above...you are a most-welcome addition to this board. Thanks for your politeness, kindness, genuinely inquisitive nature, and proper use of the Queen's English.

Maybe it has to do with the fact she is a female. I've noticed the same in my group bike rides. When there are no women, it is a testosterone-laden curse fest, with guys breaking free at every chance. When women are there (and most of the riders we ride with are extremely capable, but not as explosive riders), we don't have as much competitiveness and racing up the next hill. Much more controlled tempo and, of course, much better manners. Maybe that influence on guys is why women are referred to as 'the fairer sex.'
Oh, and please, men: Behave as testosterone-high as you'd like. Matters little to me. I actually would prefer to see MORE of that testosterone spirit in these forums. It seems that testosterone in men means seriousness, per Kaiser's example: No women; great workout. Women; bad/slow workout.
So be as testosteroneous (is that a word?) as you'd like around me!
LOL
...anna...

Yet it would seem that you men would work out harder around us, as if to try to impress us... But then again, men have the high tendencies to be most competitive around their own sex.

Frankly, I have a hard time focusing. Doing a hard set and a beautiful lady comes around...immediately lose focus and get weaker. Not your fault Anna, but it must be hard-wired into guys. Maybe some guys work out harder around women... perhaps I've been married so long, I may be immasculated.
