Default Body Matrix makes me want to puke...

AND I LOVE IT!!

I want to do more body matrix type stuff - it just feels so right!

Does anyone know of or has tried any kinds of exercises that might produce the same "wipe the ground off your face" effects?

Perhaps some sort of plyometric drills?

Also, i always ask this, will doing more body matrix stuff compromise the program?

Let me know!

Try some of Cosgrove's barbell complexes for a weighted finisher that will leave you trashed as well.

You could always modify the BWM to use different exercises - mountain climbers or burpees or squat thrusts.

I looked at that, too. It does look awesome, but I have some questions:

When he says "jump lunges" or "reverse lunges" does he mean with the BB on the back? Or no weight? He specifies in one complex to do the jump squat with bar on back, so I assume bar for jump lunges too?

How do you do a squat into a press? I think plain "squat" means back squat, so are you doing a back squat, then lifting the bar off your back into an overhead press, then lowering it onto the back again for the next squat?

What's the difference between a military press and a push press?

The jump squat has the bar on back (see pic) and the jump lunges are BW (see pic)

I would use dumbbells for this sequence. Squat with DB's on shoulders and press up when rising out of the squat. Lower DB's to shoulders and squat again, repeat.

What's the difference between a military press and a push press?

With a push press, you use the momentum from your lower body (legs and hips) to press the weight overhead. With a military press, you press straight up, using arms/shoulders only, with no help from or bend in your legs.
see above....

Gotcha. Thanks. I missed that pic of the jump squat, and was so bowled over by the height the jumper got on the lunge jumps that I didn't see the absence of a bar.

Not to beat a dead horse, but check out this little number I found while perusing the fitness athlete pages off of Tmuscle (yeah, you should check out my blog-roll - frightening/entertaining/conce rning).

Its a 'Bodyweight Metabolic Circuit' by Rachel Cosgrove!

Looks serious! I'll see if I'm up for the challenge and report back.

I think I'm going to try this circuit tonight. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm trying to incorporate more cardio into my workouts, and I hate LISS, so I've been trying to find different and unique ways to sneak in some cardio. This looks fun!
