Default rep question

I just started stage 2 this morning and realized that I may be doing something incorrectly. For instance on the dumbbell one point row it says to do 2 sets of 10. I thought this meant do 10 with one leg lifted, then 10 with the other leg lifted. That would be one set. Then I read in the book that you should do half the reps on one foot, then switch to the other foot to finish the set. That would just be 5 on each leg.

Have I been doing double the amount?

I also had some balance trouble with the front squat/push press. I just used the bar but when I tried to get up on my toes I felt like I was falling forward.

That particular exercise is primarily the upper body row - the balance on one leg is just an added challenge. So you do the reps based on per set of rows - and the suggestion is to vary the leg 1/2 way through.
