Default weight loss between stage 1 and 2

I don't know if this is normal or not - but I have not been excersing for 3 weeks now (injury and vacation) and I've dropped about 6 pounds. I hope it's not the muscle I gained during phase one - it seems to be fat from my tummy - great news! I'm having trouble getting started again due to the long absence - another post.

You didn't gain much muscle in Stage 1.....it was only a few weeks.....and you surely didn't lose 6 lbs of muscle in 3 weeks. You probably lost some water due to not working out and you must have been eating at a deficit.

x 2 on the deficit--some of my most successful weight loss was AFTER a period of heavy lifting--I would take a break for whatever reason (vacation illness whatever) and lose weight almost effortlessly.

It's much easier to eat at a deficit when you're not working out a lot. Maybe that's what happened. Also, you may have lost the fat while you were working out, but were holding water.

Whatever it is, congrats.

I have experienced this too. I'm doing the original NROL. I did the first two programs, and during the second break period I lost about 4 pounds, and REALLY noticed it around my waist. My pants were noticeably looser. Good times! When I started the next program, I hadn't lost any strength. So I wouldn't worry about losing muscle.
