Default I think I'm in love...

with Stage 2! I did workout A on Friday and workout B on Sunday. I am a bit sore all over today and it feels wonderful. I love the Bulgarian Split Squats because I can feel them working right away. I have huge thighs and I'm hoping Stage 2 will help me shead a few eighths of an inch from each side.

Did anyone do more than the recommended 8 total workouts?

Oh and also, did you use the same weight for the reverse lunge from box with forward reach as you did with lunges from Stage 1?

No need to do more than the 8 workouts because stage 4 is a repeat of stage 2.

I love BSS, too! If you like those, you'll like the 1-legged squats in the next stage--something to look forward to.

YES!! Also love the BSS! Gets the heart pumping for sure. In fact I really look forward to my B day - I actually decided to continue to do the CDL in stage 2 instead of what was written b/c I still hadn't gotten it down in stage 1. Now I'm getting close to 135! and that was my goal.

Gymbunny, I can't remember what I did in stage 1 lunges, but my Rev lunge is 8 lbs, maybe 10.

Agreed x 4 or whatever it is now! Love this stage (I'm doing stage 4 now; same thing). Fun with the FSPP. I do CDLs instead of wide grip, because I never could master the wide grip. Love the BSS! I worked up to using a barbell in stage 4 for the BSS, as it got hard to hold a heavy DB or plate. I like the BB better.

I just checked my logs, and I started the reverse lunge w/ reach at a slightly lower weight than I ended lunges with in stage 1. The reverse lunge is fun, it's like a combo lunge/step up, and I found it plenty hard with lower weight.

(And in stage 4, you get to do three sets instead of only 2! Whee!)

Yeah, I know. But its about Tevez at this point, not about which team he plays on. Naturally had he stayed at Man U (and had they gotten rid of Berbatov) I would've been much happier.

Isn't the balance hard on BSS w/ a BB? I don't think I could figure out how to get in position. How were you holding the BB? Back or front?

BB on back, like for a regular squat. I use the preweighted one, put it on back, then lift leg and stretch it out behind me to the bench. Not as hard as it sounds. I do the same thing for the static lunges with rear foot elevated. Except for those I use an oly bar in the squat rack. It's a little scary the first time, but then I realized it's not that hard to get the foot back.

I was wondering about doing lunges with a BB. The weights also tire my grip and it would seem that lunging with the weight on your back vs. in your hands might be more challenging for the muscles utilized, no?

Does anyone know if there are any differences b/w doing lunges with a BB vs. with DBs that might affect gains, etc.? Or is it just a matter of comfort.

Makes no difference, as far as I know.....except if you were working on grip strength, you won't get that with the BB. I'm doing lunges with 100 lbs now, so there is no way I can hold onto 50 lb dumbbells.

has anyone tried the barbell for step-ups? I'm at 30 lbs DB in each hand and half way through, my arms are ready to fall off. I couldn't imagine upping the weights to 35s because my arms would actually break free from my body but I think my legs could actually handle it.

How high is your step? I can't imagine upping my weights to 35 lbs in each hand for step-ups.

Me either; I've been working like the devil on these for four stages now, and I am only on 25 lb. DB's.
Aah; gymbunny, have you read the threads of the step ups? Could be you're cheating?

LancelotsLover- I have read the threads about step ups and I know that I am not cheating. I take extra caution not to push off my bottom foot. I am using a regular weight bench for these.

Wow, then you are an animal in the gym for sure! I've been doing step-ups for years and still cannot imagine going that high...ever, really.

I have really big/muscular legs for a woman. My upper body is fairly small and my thighs are huge! I'm talking 26" around. I wish I had smaller legs... but I guess the upside is I can handle lifting heavier weights. I also have been doing step-ups for years...

Tevez have transfered already , but England League is not fit for him,I think Spanish League is nice instead.
