Default 2009 Women's Fall Challenge ?

I kept the basics from past challenges, which are:

- any program okay
- pictures and stats posted by midnight the first Monday of the Month

What needs to be decided really is:

- time frame (4 months to Jan, and start another? or 6 months)
- a grace week for late joiners as we're not giving much notice

Full details here: 2009 Women's Fall Challenge ?

Yep, anyone can join. I'll post more information soon, just remember that starting pics and stats will be due September 8th by midnight EST. (That's actually a Tuesday this coming month - I pushed it forward because both the US and Canada have a holiday on the Monday.)

I kinda like the concept of the 4 month time frame, just because I imagine the first of the year will be a good time to start new challenges but at the same time we may see more marked improvement within the longer time span, so therefore more encouraging .

Never been a part of any myself, so I am not sure which would be best . . I will leave that to greater minds

Either way, I'm in!

Sounds like a great idea. Since I just started, never been a part of a challenge and seems interesting. I also like the idea of 4 months and starting a new one the beginning of the year.

So far it's 2 for 6 months, 2 for 4 months, and 2 who didn't state a preference.

why 4 months when the book states it would take about 6 months to finish?

Because it's not an "NROL4W" challenge. It's a challenge for anyone, doing any program, with any goals they choose to make for themselves.

this is a great idea! I really like the idea of a challenge and I think a 4-month challenge would be long enough to get results without being so long that people drop out. Plus, I like the idea of the end being at New Year's.

Count me in! Photos and stats to follow...

Gonna try this again. Preview worked but when I tried opening them in the post I got a server error.

I'm in. I just took pics Saturday so I have my before pics. 4 or 6 months. Makes no difference to me. I like 4 months, makes you work harder. I started a new workout this morning. Posting my pics now for the before shots. Weight 168. Height 5'5". Body Fat 23%

Attachments aren't working in the forums right now.
Upload your pictures to one of those sharing sites (like Flickr or Photobucket or the like) and then link the URL in your post (using the icon with the mountain).

You need to host your pictures elsewhere (Flickr, Photobucket, etc.) then use the picture icon and paste in the URL of the picture. Oh, and I think for PhotoBucket you have to size them first. Flickr you upload and it lets you pick the size. I don't know much about Photobucket but on Flickr I make the photos private and they still show up here.

i'd like to participate in a challenge. i'm starting stage 4 of NROLW this week, so unless life interfers, I should be finishing in about 3 months. However, we're house hunting now and packing and moving will most likely interfer with the 3x/week workout schedule, so I'll probably be finishing in 4 months.

My vote is for a 4 month challenge to finish out the year, then start a 6 month challenge starting in January.

I'm in. 4 months brings us nicely to the end of the year so my vote's for that. After a week's hiatus for vacation (and lots of overshooting calorie goals), I am 3/4 of the way through phase 1 of NROL4W.

Sounds like most are in for the four month challenge, I voted for 6, but I'll be in it either way. Maybe more people will actually finish if it's only 4 months? Four months would be plenty of time to see some good results and build some muscle I imagine?

So far it's:

6 - four months
3 - six months
6 - no preference or not mentioned

So, I agree, looks like 4 months is the preference.
