Default Stage 4 question

I just started stage 4 this week. (Whoopee!!!) The number of sets per exercise is 2-3. I'm curious how others approached the set number. Did you do 2 or 3? Start w/ 2 sets in the first few workouts and move on to 3? Do heavier weights and stick with 2 sets, or slightly lighter and go for 3? I'm having trouble developing a strategy because I'm still a bit confused about the different benefits of doing higher volume/lower weight v. lower volume/higher weight. Thanks for any input.

I did the lower number of sets due to the time I had available.

Thanks!

So if time is not an issue, does anyone see a benefit in doing 3 sets a little lighter as opposed to 2 sets a little heavier?

No, all of your sets should be heavy.....challenging....hard. Never light. You should feel as if you have, maybe, one left in the tank.

I never do "light" sets. Don't see much point in it from a strength-building perspective. But doing a 3rd set may require that I use, say, 5 pounds less (depending on exercise) to get through than if I just did 2. Anyway, thanks again.
