Default What do you do if...

What do you do if the machine you need, for example Squat rack for squats or the pully machine for lats (sorry I dont actually know the name), is taken and you are following NROLFW and only trying to rest for no more than 60 sec between sets? Especially if you doing your alternating sets?

My gym has one of everything and Ive already done two workouts and ran into this problem.

Ask to work in. Or wait. The book expresses an ideal you can't always manage and that's just life.

I should rephrase the question with, what do you do while you wait?

Depends on the situation. If it's just alternating exercises, I'd probably just finish sets for one exercise then move to the other.

If it's one of those metabolic things that calls for a short rest interval, you may just be out of luck.

Sometimes I have to do some of the exercises at home if I can't get into a certain area of the gym (for example when a class is going on and I can't get to the steps in the closet for the step-ups).

Putting in 5-10 minutes on a cardio machine just to keep your heart rate elevated while you wait probably is a good option also.

Just remain flexible and make the best of each situation.
