Default Hope this isn't a stupid question

I've eaten ~600 calories today and got 60 grams of protein. I need 150 g daily and ~1600 cal on non-lifting days with a deficit. Its 9:30 now. Is there any harm in trying to get in the other 90 g of protein in the next 3 hours or so? I don't even know what to eat to do that as I don't feel like eating all day. I'm going to go do intervals in about 30 minutes.

Or should I just call it a day, eat if I'm hungry do my shake and take advantage of the fact this is the first day I haven't exceed my calorie requirements?

I think you should take 20 minutes and plan out tomorrow's food so that you aren't in this situation every day.

I know I'm not an expert, but I will throw in my 2 cents.

In my case, I always make an effort to hit at least 1500 cals. Even if I have to load up towards the end of the evening. The easiest thing is to do peanut butter or something high calories.

After the 1500, I don't really worry about hitting an exact number, I am just trying to stay consistently above that certain mark . . it really effects my energy levels the next day if I don't.

Ha, I wish I had to make myself eat everyday! No, this is not normal for me (except when I'm down), I've posted all over here that I like food too much. But I will certainly try that.

yeah. sparkpeople says 516 actually but i'm allowing a generous amount for a tablespoon or so of some homemade satay sauce that is mostly coconut milk. Maybe I didn't allow enough but it can't be much over 600 either way. Considering that, 60 g protein aint bad.

Hi Katydid77, its not the calories, its the protein (plus protein is generally low in calories), you know too much all at once that must be hard on the kidneys. Why am I asking, its probably not going to do any harm one day.

Think I'm going to try to eat at least half the large avocado I bought, a tablespoon of peanut butter, another yogurt, my balance bar, my shake with 2 scoops powder this time. That should put me at 1200 right there.

Unless you have serious kidney issues, as in your urologist or nephrologist told you no more than x amount of protein per day, protein is not harmful.

It can be harmful if you eat ONLY protein, like 4 or 5 times your bodyweight in grams, with no other nutrients, and drink an insufficient amount of water to flush out the natural wastes your body produces.

Everything is dangerous, in the right amounts. You can die from drinking too much water as easily as not enough.
