Default Time in the gym/at home

I have just started this program and the first day took me a lot longer than I thought it would. For the more experienced people, how long did the first stage take you each day? How man hours were you in the gym? How did you time the 60 seconds in between? Watch? Clock? Estimate? Thanks!

Stage 1 is short at first....like 35 minutes. I have a watch with a second hand. Stages 3 and 5, I believe are really long....like 90 minutes, if I recall correctly.

I agree about Stage 1. I'm in and out in half and hour. The first day took longer for me just cause I had to figure out how much weight to use and I had to keep reminding myself what to do next.

The first workout may take you longer as you get used to locating everything you need in the gym, taking time with the exercises, determining proper weight, etc. But in general stage 1 workouts can be done pretty quickly. There are some later stages as MissJane mentioned that are quite lengthy.

I just finished stage 2, and I found the B workout to be really long, close to an hour and a half, because there are 9 (!) exercises, plus HIIT at the end. Also, the exercises were killer, so I often used more than the 75 second rest, panting and getting my heart rate back down. Workout A wasn't that bad.

I time the intervals with a watch.

The time depends on the situation in the gym. Most of us don't own our own gyms, so we may have to wait for equipment, spend time looking for equipment, or (grrrrrr!) unracking the weights someone else left on the bar. Especially with the supersets--you may be using a piece of equipment for B1, switch to B2, and when you come back someone else is using your B1 equipment.

There have been times I've switched the order of the supersets to account for equipment availability or location. Sometimes I do all the sets of one exercise then go on to the next, instead of alternating two. Gotta do what I gotta do. It works.

But in general, the Stage 1 exercises usually took me 35-40 minutes.

Thanks for all the feedback! I think I should pick up the pace today...now that I know the routine!
