Question stage-break-stage question

I'm starting with Phase 1 this Monday but I know in advance that instead of taking a one week break after the completion of stage 1, I might have to take a two week break.

If I delay starting the program by another week, I will only have to take a one week break.

Question: Is taking two weeks off instead of the required one week span okay? Negative effects? Or is it no big deal really?

It's probably no big deal, but if you are worried, you could always just add another workout or three at the end of stage 1, before you do the two special workouts. Lou gives you the option of adding another workout at each rep level, so I think it would be ok to just add extra workouts at the end. So, if you finish all 8 A and B workouts, and have one more week with three sessions left free before your break, just do another A and B at the 8-rep level, then do the two special workouts. However the timing works out for you. I don't think he'd ever say "don't add workouts!"

That said, I have occasionally taken two week breaks from lifting, and I usually come back fine, and feel really strong, especially if I had been lifting very hard before the break. And you will be lifting really hard if you do these workouts properly!!

Just do stage 1 for an extra week.

it's one week. one of 52 in a year. one of hundreds or more in your life. one week.
don't matter either way.

Yeah, no big deal. I just finished a 2 week break. By the end of said break I felt like a total slug, just really really bleh. But on the up side, when I finally hit the weights again I found that I had piles more energy for the workouts.

I was wondering why we hadn't seen any of your posts for a while! Did you go away?

Flyingdogs and I went camping out on Vancouver Island. Man, it is so beautiful out there.
We were really pleased too, because now that we're so much stronger all the hiking/kayaking/carrying heavy bags didn't tire us out as much as it had on previous trips.

Nice! We flew into Nanaimo and spent the week touring around -- Campbell River, Quadra Island, Ucluelet, Tofino. Then back to Ucluelet b/c we liked it so much. You?

I was right on your path to Tofino, in Port Alberni. I've often considered moving to Ucluelet, I love that area, especially in the summer!
