This is normal. The soreness comes from doing something different and is not an indication of how hard you're working. I bet you'll be sore again the first week of Stage 2.

Soreness isn't necessarily an indication of how hard you worked.

Yeah, I had this confusion too. I mentioned it in my lift log for yesterday's workout, and someone responded that that's ok; it doesn't mean you aren't working the muscles well enough. I am used to getting sore at every workout, but then, I was doing random exercises sporadically, so the muscles had time to atrophy some between times. I think we'd better start using a different gauge of our progress, like heavier weights and how we look/feel.

You will most likely experience soreness when you change stages. I started stage 6 on Monday, and hadn't really felt sore in a while. Well after doing the negative chins, and the 10 sets of lat pull downs, my arms and shoulders and upper chest were so sore!
It had been a really long time since I'd felt that, since Easter when I had gone to a different gym while visiting my parents, and attended a body combat class. The new moves and the enthusiasm of the teacher were very enjoyable and made me push myself. I was so sore the next day, but it was a good sore. It was enjoyable (in a weird way) to feel the muscle moving. Like a reconnecting with my body.
Stage 6 WO B1 wasn't as painful (thankfully! LOL) and I'm actually looking forward to doing the A workout again, cuz I know I won't be as sore, a testament to gaining strength!

I agree! I'm not getting sore much, if at all, as I near the end of Stage 3, but I fully expect Stage 4 to bring on the ache again!

Keep up the great work! You are about where I ended Stage 1.

Ah, Stage 4....I remember it well. Just as I finished Stage 3 and turned the page, what do I find?? Stage 4 is a repeat of Stage 2! UGH! LOL!

I don't know about you, but I always feel like a fool doing squat jumps. Something about them looks so funny to me, I get really self conscious. I think when I get to that stage, I'm going to hide in the aerobics class room to do those!

Because I'm always incredibly self-conscious, I used to skip doing them at the gym and used to do them at home. One day my 6 year old daughter came into the room I was doing them in to see what I was doing, and proceeded to do the 2nd round with me. She had a better time than me! And she had a blast jumping around with mommy!

How funny. That's actually not a bad idea, to have her do the body weight matrix with you! Kids love that kind of stuff, and since there's no weights it's not harmful to them, and it will get her some exercise and basic training in balance and coordination. Unless she doesn't need it, if she does gymnastics or dance or something already. I am going to try to interest my boys in doing that with me when I get to that stage.

She's super active, and throughout the year she does dance and swimming. I don't think the matrix would be too taxing. It is only 2 rounds of 3 or 4 mins after all.
She loves to workout with me, and has her own pair of little red weights (2lb-ers).
We have a wii fit and she loves to do the yoga poses and the hula hooping. And she loves to flex and show off her big muscles. It's too cute!
