Default Wide Grip Lat Pulldown: need alternative

I'm looking to start nrolfw in a few weeks. The kids will be home on summer vacation, which means I'll be home too!! Must work out at home. I'm figuring out what equipment I'll need. Any suggestions for an alternative exercise / equipment for the "Wide grip lat pulldown"?

Thanks,
Monica

Doesn't the book suggest pullovers?

I work out at home also. I'm doing pullovers right now but I also have a chin up bar installed. I'll be switching over to the assisted chin ups as soon as my assistance bands come in the mail. I've found I've reached a wall with the weight I can use for the pullovers, plus the chin up is closer to the pulldown I think in terms of the muscles involved.

Default lat pulldown

Oops! Now I see that and do remember reading it now! My former trainer set me up with some home exercises. He has my doing pull-ups with a broom laid across two chairs. I can just lift my upper body off the floor a few inches. Today I managed 3 sets of 12 reps. Is that a good alternative?

Neat idea about the broom stick. I have been doing the pullover but wanted to switch it up because as much as I like it it becomes soo repeatative when you have to sub it in for so many stages. We actually have a pull-up bar, but if hubby is not here to assist me it's not an option. Though I have done some nice negatives on my own(with a chair of course)

Get some assistance bands for the bar.
