Default Swiss Ball Flexion

I always feel so silly doing the Hanna flexions, so I decided to try the swiss ball side crunches this a.m. Wow! I couldn't figure out how to keep myself balanced on the ball, and when I finally did get some stability, I felt like I was crunching with a twisted spine. Any advice on positioning, etc. to make these work? Or am I just really uncoordinated?

I just made sure i did this next to the wall. My feet were planted on the floor, i think, one foot in front of the other and the ball was under my hip. It's not a very graceful pose the first few times you get into it. But it does get easier. You should make a straight line from your head to an imaginary point between your feet.

I actually found it easier when I could get my feet up against something stationary. I had my feet "anchored" against my treadmill, and they were tough. (Not sure I explained that very well)

They *do* get easier, and when they do you can try holding a small weight straight up (towards the ceiling).... definitely takes it up a notch!

Thanks for the advice - it really helped to put my feet up against the wall. Still awkward, but much better than last week.
