Default BWM Questions

I just did my first BWM yesterday and I have a couple questions:

1. Do you have to put your hands up near your ears for the moves? I found it unconfortable and prefer my hands at my hips.

2. When doing the lunge jumps, I found myself swinging my arms to get myself going and using some momentum. Is this OK. I didn't do it for the squat jumps only the lunge umps.

Thanks for the links. I had read most of those before I posted. I did reread them again in case I missed something!! I still don't see an answer to either of my questions though?

I think if you want to really focus on your lower body, then you shouldn't be using your arms for momentum. That seems to me like the people who use full body momentum to do biceps curls, it takes the focus off the part of your body that should be working.

I like keeping my hands behind my head because I tend to collapse my upper body as I get tired (which I do, very quickly, doing the BWM) and it's easier for me to remember to keep my shoulders back & chest up if I've got my hands behind my head. If you can keep good form on this with hands on hips, then you should be fine.

There is no specific answer to your questions. If you put your hands down & swing your arms, then I would say you are making it easier and should work your way up to doing it as described.

I guess some people would say I'm doing it wrong, but I use my arms for balance and keeping form. When I squat, I send my arms out in front of me and then pull them down by my sides as I stand up. When I lunge, I pump my arms sort of like power walking. When I squat-jump, I sort of treat my arms like I'm shooting a basketball - they go up when I jump.
