Default Squat rack

I love using the squat rack (and I'm off the smith machine now that I know better haha!) Any idea's on how to move the catchers on the squat rack? I need them almost at ground level so I can rest the bar on them for deadlifts. I'm not yet buff enough to actually use plates. But soon!

Thanks for any feed back!

they prolly don't go that low. you'll prolly end up needing to stack some plates and set the bar on those. I find the lowest setting isn't low enough for me if I wanted to do that.

Well, ok, that's if you're in a cage. if it's a squat rack, and you can't move/remove the safety and it's built in, you need to come out entirely.

My old gym was like that, irritating. no deadlifting platform and nowhere on the floor to pull out and lift without being in the way. So, I was always in the way.

In the cage I just set it to a comfortable height for loading and picking up the bar the first time, then I place it on the ground for the lifts (I remove the safety bars).

any trainer at the gym should be able to show you how to move the safeties, if that's what you mean. or if you mean the actual j-hooks where you rack the bar before you squat - that should be pretty simple to figure out -again, anyone in the gym should be able to show you how.
As others said - they might not go low enough for you to get the bar at 8" or so for DL but they might.

Thanks for the help everyone! It was actually pretty easy to move them off, and put the bar on the ground. I love the deadlifts! I can't weight to be strong enough to put some weight on them.
