Default intervals in Stage 1

i've been in pretty good shape for the last year with my own loose combo of weights, HITT, spinning & yoga etc. i want to embark on the NROL program for women for even better results - seems like a fantastic program.

i see HITT doesn't become part of the workouts until Stage 2 - but i don't really want to stop doing them while i engage in Stage 1. is it ok to do some interval training in addition to Stage 1 b/c i'm used to doing them? thanks for all thoughts...
