Default My fat loss dilemma

Hi everyone, I'm hopefully going to start this program in a few weeks but I have some reservations/concerns that I'm trying to get rid of. First of all, I just had a baby 3 months ago and am still 10 pounds from my pre pregnancy weight and 10% higher in fat percentage than I was when I got pregnant. This program sounds great to build muscle and gradually lose fat but I don't know if I should do this right now since my main focus is to lose 10 pounds of baby weight plus another 5-10 on top of that to get to my "goal" weight. Of course I want to build muscle because I know it helps my metabolism and burns calories, etc. But everyone's "results" that I've read or heard about from this program is just more in muscle bulding than fat loss. Will I be able to achieve my goal of losing a lot of fat while gaining muscle? Or am I just being silly and need to try this out? This for sure sounds like the best program that I've ever read or heard about. Any advice?

Are you nursing? If you are, it's not the right to to try too hard to lose much fat.

Some women didn't lose much weight/fat, but most of the time it was because they failed to reduce calories after the first phase. It's suggested to go with the formula for a certain period of time, and if you're getting the results you like, stick to that level of calories. If not, adjust up or down based on what you saw happen (or not happen).

In several (at least) cases, they just kept going on without reducing calories, despite the lack of fat loss progress. So, don't do that.

Default Thanks for the advice

Yes I'm currently nursing so I know I need a few hundred more calories even though that sounds fattening instead of thinning. With my first baby it took me a year to get off the extra weight I gained but I also wasn't as smart with eating/working out as I am now. It was very frustrating and I certainly don't want it to have to be a year to get there again!

Hi Mom in training--
I nursed my three kids and I have a lot of experience advising new moms--here's my take on your situation:
If you're only 10 pounds over your prepregnancy weight, I would suggest you NOT try to lose scale weight or cut calories. NROL4W is a brilliant program for body recomposition now is a great time for you to focus on that. Many moms spontaneously lose the last 10 pounds after they wean--it seems our bodies like to hold on to a little for insurance that the milk won't run dry. : ) Because you need to ensure that your little one is getting the best quality nutrition, eating adequately is important and you can focus on building muscle and making your body strong--then when you wean, I'll bet the pounds will melt off, especially if you have built up your lean mass. The more muscle you have, the easier it will be to burn off the fat when the time comes.
Hope that helps. Be patient with your body--it's done a miraculous thing and if you work with it, especially with the help of a great program like NROL4W, I'll bet you will come out of it with an even better body than before baby--I know I did.
HTH. : )

You're welcome. I've only done it once--I started it again but got distracted and now I"m doing the original NROL.
