Default Advice for eating out

Hi everyone,

I started the program about two weeks ago, and so far so good. I'm noticing some gains in strength already, and my clothes are slightly looser. I'm really excited about getting into harder routines.

Anyway, I'll be taking a short trip this weekend, and I was wondering if anyone has any tips for eating on the road and eating at restaurants. I've been really good with my diet and just do not want to screw up. I don't think I can be very accurate counting calories since we'll be eating out most of the time, and that gives me some anxiety because I've been fairly diligent with keeping track.

I'd really appreciate any advice or tips on what has worked for you. Thanks!
Jessica

Go for the most basic dishes with the least ingredients. Like chicken breast or steak with sauce on the side, and get a side salad, steamed veggies, or fruit as a side dish rather than potatoes. Salads can be good if they don't have tortilla chips or cheese all over them, with dressing on the side.

Bring healthy snacks in your bag.

Be assertive in asking for what you want at the restaurants...remember, you are paying them to get a meal that is to your liking.
