I asked the same thing and got the same response when I started stage 2. I had been doing HIIT 3X per week in the morning and lifting 3X evenings until stage 2 started. I bit the bullet and am doing HIIT after both 2A & 2B workouts, because I couldn't find a more suitable place (not 2 days in a row) for more HIIT AND do HIIT after B.
I do think I remember reading that some others were doing their HIIT on non-lift days instead of after B only.
