Default Elbow Pain After Performing One Arm Dumbell Snatch...

I am currently working on Stage 6; however, toward the end of Stage 5 I had worked my way up to 25 lbs. per arm on the One Arm Dumbell Snatch. It was challenging for me, but do-able. Shortly after that workout, I developed pain in my left elbow, on the outer part of the joint, right where the small bony protrusion is if you feel the elbow (hope that makes sense). Ice and Alleve post-workout did the trick; however, I now find that this discomfort follows any workout that involves a pulling motion with the left arm (which is almost everything). It's not unbearable, and it's not the kind of pain that screams "Stop", but I am concerned that I may have tweaked something. Any ideas as to what it could be, and if it's something that would be worth the effort of going to the doctor for? (Can you tell I'm hoping not )....

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I tweaked a few things during the course of this year. Always took a few days to a week off and was good as new. Maybe it'll work for you.

Thanks Nancy. I began Stage 6 last week after a full rest week post Stage 5 (which is when I injured it). I'm going to give it some time and if it doesn't alleviate on it's own, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and go to the doc.

Make sure you're not starting the snatch (or things like deadlifts) with soft or flexed elbows. If you do, you jerk the elbow straight, which leads to pain.

Thanks Dog -- I'll pay attention to that next time I incorporate them into my workout.
