Default One arm dumbbell squat

Any tips on form?
I have a hard time keeping my arm vertical as I go down, my shoulders aren't flexible enough to go behind my head.
This means I can't use more than an 8 pound weight overhead and the exercise mostly feels annoying and not like I'm working out.
Suggestions? I'm using a 15lb weight on the bottom, maybe I should increase that one?

This was the advice that was given to me when I had a similar problem:
Quote:
With the over head squat is your arm bending forward, backward, sideways, whats going on? If its going forward as you squat down, try to get your shoulders back behind your head/neck and keep your arm pushed back and upright, if that makes sense....
Since you mentioned that you can't get your shoulder back behind your head, try to focus on keeping your arm pushed back and upright, but don't lock your elbow. It took me a while to be able to get these too. Pretty much, as I would squat, my "up" arm would bend and I'd almost hit myself in the head with the db. It's not a very natural feeling position, but once you get it, it's actually kind of fun.
Good luck and keep at it. I know the light weight is frustrating.
