Default Protein shake

What is the best kind of protein shake...the kind that are already made? Not the powder.

I don't really know how to answer that because these protein shakes seem to be very subjective. What one person loves another cannot stand. I went to Whole Foods and got several different single-servings of different types and flavors to find a couple that I like. No way would I get a case of anything (having tried so many that just don't taste good to me) without trying them first!

Yes, there are also isolates v.s. MRPs and others as well. Though I hear egg protein is supposed to be good and more recently also hear that you get get egg protein power for shakes.

I've tried the isolate power to make shakes and it's good. Though, each brand has it's own flavors but overall, I like the isolates after trying quite a few.

According to Exercise physiology : energy, nutrition, and human performance by McArdle, William D., EGG PROTEIN is the most bioavailable protein you can consume.

However, for some reason the protein manufacture companies keep pushing whey as the best, and there is evidence that shows whey is well-absorbed by most people.

However (again!) if you are lactose-intolerant, try the egg protein.

Home at DPS Nutrition - The Nation's leader in Discount Nutrition has some good prices on egg protein. Just make sure you are buying JUST egg protein, not egg and milk.

Try the chocolate!

Both whey protein and egg protein have a BV of 100 - meaning they're about equally bioavailable.
