Default Rest Weeks

Hi,

I know that we're supposed to take a rest week at regular intervals, for recovery. I took a week between stages 1 & 2...

Has anyone taken another rest week yet, and if so, at what point in NROLW did you take it? As I approach the end of stage 3, I'm wondering if I should rest before 4, or wait til the break between 4 & 5, or ?????

Thanks!

I take a rest week approximately every 12 weeks.

I took a week between Stage 1 and 2, although I did the extra sets which made Stage 1 8 weeks for me. I really felt doing the AMRAPs that I was out of steam. I suspect I won't take a full week between the other stages, but I'll see how I feel. I don't think I'm fit enough to go 12 weeks without a rest period, but I might do a day off between the next stages instead.

I am about to take my first rest week. I didn't rest between 1 and 2, but am resting between 2 and 3. I kind of had to schedule it this way- as I already had vacation planned for next week and will be offshore with no workout facilities. I imagine I will rest again between 4 and 5.

I've just been plugging along. I took about a 5 day rest when a friend was in town and another rest week when I was sick. Both were in the middle of stages (2 and 3) Other than that, I haven't really felt that I needed to. I figure that when I feel burnt out, I'll take a rest week and pick it all back up.

I took a week between 1 & 2 and then I wasn't planning on taking a week this time, but I ended up being forced to take one between 2 and 3. I don't plan on taking more than a couple of days between 3 and 4. I figure life gets in the way enough to not have to worry about planning time off.

I'm taking one mid-way through stage 2, because I'm going on a scheduled vacation. Just trying to get through all the workouts, and taking breaks whenever I need to because of other commitments.

I'm only half way through stage one so I haven't had a rest week yet. Is anyone doing cardio during their rest weeks? I'd feel weird not doing anything.

I did cardio (I think I did two HIIT's if memory serves) during my rest week after stage 1... but having read Leigh's books on fat loss and metabolism, I think I will not do anything except maybe some light "loosening up" kinds of cardio (HR < 65%) next time... I'm going to use my workout time to stretch and foam roll... (and of course I'll do karate that week!)

I took a full week between 1 & 2. I take 4 days of "no workout rests" between stages. No cardio, no weights, nothing. It gives me a good mental break as well as full physical recovery
