Default AMRAP--MUST I?

Hi there,
Just winding up Stage 1 here--what is the deal with the AMRAP? I know it says that it gives you a sense of how much stronger you are, but do I haff to do it? (whining).
I know I'm stronger. Is there a compelling reason to do it, is there a benefit? Because if it's just to prove to myself I'm strong, I'd rather skip it. Thanks for your speedy reply, I need to go to the gym. Yes, I should have asked yesterday. Sorry. : )

I'm starting Stage One on Monday and I'm really looking forward to doing the AMRAP Special Workouts after I'm done. I'll want to see the progress I've made in 6 weeks time!

So what if you're not stronger and never know it? You can't fix it then. It's not a "see? you're stronger" thing. It's to see if you actually are stronger.

It's exercise, which burns calories. That's one benefit. The other is knowing that you're stronger so you don't have to go back and think about what a slacker you must have been to be so weak.

Ha ha, guys. Actually, I am a big butch when it comes to weights and I tend to overestimate if anything. In any case I had decided to suck it up and do the dang AMRAP thing so I went to my folder with my logs in it and wouldn't you know it, I have misplaced my 1st logs. So I can't do it. It is weird because I am usually really anal about this stuff and have a year and a half of logs in there, just not that one. So I am movin' on, on to Stage 2.
Thanks youse guys. I'll report on my fun and games in my log.

I was tempted to skip them, but I sucked it up and did them, and I'm really glad I did. One thing you can do: put on a favorite song, and challenge yourself to do the exercise until the song ends. I also did workout A and B nearly a week apart to give myself plenty of time to recover.
