08/06/08 Sunday
Squat Day
Squat
---suit(31 inzer hardcore) on, straps down---
143lbs x 5
242lbs x 4
---knee wraps + belt + straps up - full equipment---
330lbs x 1
385lbs x 1
407lbs x 2 PR my opener
Comments:
-Good to get two good reps on that double of 407lbs, which I will open at.
-Both squats were good, but I was a bit unstable unracking, and after the first rep almost fell over(I locked it out really fast and almost put me off balance), but I was okay and got both reps.
-While my coach is wrapping my knees, Tim told him "Hey, Simon said you wrap like a pussy, and that I wrap harder, and I wasn't even trying" as a bit of a prank hah - a characteristic response from my coach would then be to say "oh yeah?" and proceed to wrap my knees as hard as possible, he held it in though, and didn't
-Afterwards he wrapped my knees 100% tight, which hurt a bit, especially the last few times around the knee hah, but I still said "hah, this is loose, you wrap like a pussy!" hahahhahaahhaha

I have a 2 hour weigh in.
Weigh in at 10am this Saturday, 14th June,
start lifting at 12pm.
Openers set at:
Squat: 185kg
Bench: 112.5kg
Dead: 200kg
I hope to hit:
Squat: 200kg
Bench: 122.5kg
Deadlift: 225kg
Total: 547.5kg
I'll be competing in the 82.5kg Class, so I should easily make that by losing less than 1kg. I'll stop drinking at 3pm the day before, and have my last meal at 7pm(a small one, and not soup ). Weigh myself in the morning at my coaches house, and if I can afford it, have a bit of water hah, if I'm overweight, then Sauna down a bit.

5 complete days off? Damn, I usually take only 3 days off. 5 days is too much for me, I start getting weaker after 4-5 days.
Anyway, good luck!

my next meet i think i may do my last heavy day about 3 weeks out, hit openers 2 weeks out and then actually get some decent rest in. I only took 6 days off for my last meet and i wished i would have taken a few more. Everyone is different I hear shawn frankl takes like 2-3 days off and then benches like 800lbs @ 198 so who knows.

Yeah 5 days is nothing lol. Some guys who train westside style do their last heavy session 2-3 weeks out as frank said hah!

Do something active though.
Some light-ish sled drags or something.
Good luck dude!

Haha yeah, I don't see a point. I'd just run the risk of not being fully recovered on the comp day, with nothing to gain anyway.
4 days out. It's ass-sitting time!!!

I logged my food yesterday, I didn't eat much haha:
Wednesday 11th June Food Log:
30g Oats
600mL Milk
Protein Bar
beef jerky 50g
1 egg
Kangaroo Steak 388g
1kg froz veg
olive oil(for "one serve", 1 tbsp) - whatever I used to cook the steak
That all came to:
201g Protein (45.5%)
135g Carbs (30.5%)
47g Fat(24%)
1925 Calories according to the energy info on the labels of the food, if you add up the macrnonutrients above it comes to 1767 though interestingly enough. More calories from 'something'
I think I'll log my food intake today and tomorrow too, I don't have much else to do hah!

active recovery...
Besides you can work on you're technique with like 60% of 1RM. You'll be recovered from that the next day .
Doing absolutely nothing is a bad idea imo. But maybe it's works for you.
Btw: eating little and not training is very bad I've done that he last 5 days ( due to exams) and I'm as weak as hell Meaning no 150kg bench for me this meet
