Question Question on stage 2

I know it says to do 2 sets of 10 reps. I just feel like I get a better workout when I do 3 sets. Can I add another set or do I just keep it the way it is?

Thanks!!

Keep it the way it is. When you get to stage 4, you re-do stage 2 with more sets, lower reps.

If you can do a third set, you probably could do more weight on the first two sets - try increasing the weight (as long as you can maintain form)if 2 sets is "too easy" or not enough of a workout...

I agree with Bytsi. If you're not getting the best workout, push yourself harder by adding more weight.

I did A for the second time today. I love incorporating planks in my workout. I feel those like something fierce!

The only exercise I am having an issue with is the squat push press. I was squatting heavy, but I can't lift that weight over my head. So I'm squatting lighter so I can lift it. But, I'll get there...

I really like Phase 2 so far.

I'm doing the same with the push press. At the end of Stage 1 I was squatting 105, and today for the push press I ended up doing 65. I tried 70, but that was just too much for me. With 65 the last 3 reps were really hard!

I was squatting over 100, and db shoulder pressing with 35's, but I never got above 55 on the push-press! I did go pretty low in my front squats and made the move explosive, which wore me out more, for whatever reason!

I'm trying to increase my ROM on the squat part for that reason. It must be working because I've been sore.

I thought I was lifting pretty well, but after reading what other ladies lift here, I realize I still have a ways to go...

I was squatting 75 and 85, and finally was able to do 45 on the push-press on my last day of stage 2. I wasn't coming up on my toes though.

I'm also going a lot lighter with the push-press...I was squatting 130 but on the push press so far all I can do is 65...and even that is bothering my wrists. Does anyone else have this problem? I've tried changing hand position but I just find this exercise difficult...maybe awkward is a better word.

I had issues with the push-press and my wrists, but I had a trainer help me and his advice was to worry less about keeping my elbows high and rolling the bar onto my fingertips, since my weight on the bar wasn't too much for me to handle if I used my arms/hands a bit more to hold it. It helped a lot, and my form improved as I went along...

I had a problem with my wrists too. When I let the bar roll back to my fingers, my wrists hurt. I stopped rolling the bar back, keep my elbows low, and rest the bar on the ball of my hands the whole time.

That is really good to know, I will try that on my next workout. I felt like a contortionist trying to keep my elbows up like that....it felt like my arms were too long to keep the bar where it should be. Thanks!
