Default Post workout protein timing

How soon after my WO do I need to get the protein in? I got to the gym before work, get ready there, and am in the office 30-45 minutes after finishing my workout. Can I wait until I get into the office to have my shake, or should I sip it in the locker room?

I'm thinking it's within 30 minutes. I could be wrong. I bring a cup with protein powder to the gym and mix it with water. I often pack a banana in my bag to eat along with it 'cause I go straight to work, too!

Assuming you ate something before working out, 30-45 minutes is just fine.

What if you don't eat before working out first thing in the morning? Is that OK? If it is OK, then how long after working out do you have until the post-workout shake?

For me, I've always like to take in some water about 40 to 50 minutes before working out. Later on, I switched it to a protein shake (isolate) and it works well.
