Default I am strong!!!

Today was my next-to-the-last workout in Stage 2, and I graduated to doing push-pulls with the 45 pound oly bar, yay! I have also done pushups from the floor for the last two workouts. I feel so strong!!!!! <insert Xena yell here>

So I've put on 4 pounds since I started, but I tend to overshoot my calories trying to get the protein numbers in. A friend of mine told me my face looks smoother and healthier. Okay, I'll take compliments where I can! My main goal is to build strong bones which I must be doing. My but looks awesome if I may say so myself. I'm a little unhappy with the belly pudge but I'm sticking with the program to see what happens.

Congratulations!! What is a push-pull? I love setting new personal records with this program; it's made me stronger than ever

Good for you, Nancy! That's awesome!

By the push-pulls, do you mean the front squats to overhead press? Good for you!

Nancy --- wait until you get to the one-armed DB snatch in stage 3....that one will really make you feel like a rockstar!

Then, if you can, try it with a similarly weighted kettlebell.

My gym has KBs and the trainers are really big on them. I know when I start Stage 3 (on friday), they're going to make a comment about how I should be doing it with Kettlebells instead.

I wish my gym had Kettlebells. I feel a little clumsy doing the one-armed db snatch with the db.

I've never used these and thought at first they were another gym gimmick. Turns out not to be the case. I just read some stuff by Mahler on his website that talks about how they improve stability and grip - two things I would really like to improve with my lifting.

The bf mentioned kettlebell training the other day so I think we might look into it. Especially now that you've got me curious about doing snatches with them... sounds like fun.
