Question Is this right?

I just the did formula in the book for my calorie intake. Just wanted to make sure this sounds about right:

I'm 5'2 140 pounds. On my non lifting days I will eat 1870 calories and on my lifting days 2100.

Sound good?

I'm confused. I'm 5'4 and 140. According to my calc, I need 2000 on non workout days and 2250 on workout. Why would we be off that much if there's only a 2 inch height difference?

In addition to ht/wt (BMI), activity factor and age play into the calculation too, if I remember correctly...

Above and below a bmi of 25 is somewhat arbitrary, but this is a formula that's been fairly accurate for women. Perhaps it's assumes that someone untrained, and with a higher BMI, is more likely to want to lose some fat?

Remember that this is just an estimate. A place to start. Keep track of what happens to your bodies so you can adjust things along the way.

True, but the math shows them both to be under 35.

It's not that big a difference, it's only 150 calories for 2 inches of height...seems appropriate to me.
