Default Mkay, so what's up with the veins?!

I used to be the kind of person a novice nurse or blood draw person would break out into a cold sweat over. I had to have a pic line put in for a hospital stay to keep them from mangling me on their nightly fishing trips for my blood. No surface veins at all or just little ones that would collapse if drawn from.

Now I seem to be sprouting a road map on my arms. Is this a temporary or more or less permanent thing with weight training? It's not particularly attractive but my inner freak thinks it's way cool!

I don't really have an explanation as to why the veins are appearing, because I'm in the same boat but certainly don't feel like I've lost so much body fat that veins should be popping out. But its really just in my hands and lower arms, about two or three inches from my wrist tops. But then again, maybe because my hands and lower arms had hardly any fat on them to begin with, that fat is gone now? I don't know!

Your veins pop more when your body weight is lower.

I've always had my veins close to the surface though, so my forearm veins are really popping now. One of the trainers at the gym actually commented on it a few weeks ago.

and maybe you're drinking more fluids now, too, and that helps the veins pop as well.

For something even freakier, watch your arms during lifting, especially on arm lifting exercises. As they swell with the activity, the veins really start to show. Some days, I feel like the Incredible Hulk. LOL.
