Taking care of my body is its own reward. The health that I feel and the confidence cannot be beat. Yesterday I did a major presentation in a room full of people and I know that I looked HOT. My jeans fit well and my pecs and shoulders (showing nicely from the top I wore) showed a very strong and confident woman on the outside and that transferred to my inside.
My reward is presented to me in the hotel rooms when I look in the mirror. In the gym I look in the mirror and I almost do not recognize the woman looking back. She is strong and amazing to my eyes. Lately I have been allowing myself to pause and take time and reflect on the work that I am doing. It is awesome.

I am nodding as I read this.
Seriously, girl, great writing. Obviously heartfelt sentiment, beautifully conveyed, Karla. Thank you.
(Sorry for jumping in your thread - just had to.)

Annette, so sorry to hear that. Take care of that spine. That's so important!

Next week I go see a spine specialist and start all of whatever I have to do. In the last 2 weeks the pain has become extreme, my body doesn't work. No lifting (who knows when, if ever) and no exercise or nothing for now, just lots of ice and rest.
This stinks, truly it does.

That's a bummer, Annette! Take care of YOU - that's the most important thing! Please let us know how you are doing!

Thanks all, this is dragging me down so much right now. I tried so hard to follow the plan, and it wasn't the right thing for me to do. Funny looking back, because I've been complaining about the same thing for years. I feel good, so I start working out again, building up slowly, then doing it hard then I fall all apart. I hate that muscles I've been building up these past months are going to deteriorate. I've been reading forums about spinal problems, and these people don't do much exercise. I've always done something, even if it's just walking and biking (which I love.) I really enjoyed Stage 1 of this program, and hope to be able to get back to that level.
I'm planning on keeping my eyes here. This is a great website and will be a good resource when I need to start rehabilition.
And I really should just stick to a diet...lol.
Good luck to you all too, I can't wait to see the next round of photos.

Annette: I too wish you the best of luck on this journey you are about to undertake. And yes, stick to a diet. It is more important now than anytime to eat healthy.
To the others who have commented on my previous post. I thank each of you. It is a true honor to be on this board and in this challenge with such fine women. The changes on my outside are incredible but even more incredible are the changes on my inside. I feel as though I have already won this challenge.
