Default Whey protein suggestions?

What whey proteins do you guys use? Which ones are good but affordable? I have been using a protein powder that is vegan/vegetarian so it is a pea protein but don't mind switching to whey once this can is out.....any suggestions from you experts?
Also, the bars that Lou suggested in the book I can't find around here....do any of you use bars, if so which ones?

Nikster,

I posted a response to this in my "Go Whey Protein" thread.

thank you. I should have mentioned that I do not use artificial sweetners either...I have been using stevia mostly. The only one I saw was a post about "Jay Robb" so I will look in to that one...don't know what that is? Do you know any more brands that use stevia or natural sweetners? what is the diff. between isolate and concentrate? is one better?

Optimum Nutrition carries a version sweetened with Stevia (haven't tried it yet).

I like ON's other products. I bounced around for awhile and then landed on them. I stick mostly with the chocolate in all its varieties.

I believe that isolate has a higher percentage of protein than concentrate. It also costs more. So the concentrate is cheaper, but you have to use more of it to get the same amount of protein.

Thanks, I will try the ON chocolate since I want to get another flavor anyway....
My healthfood store only had 2 brands with no artificial sweetners....made with Stevia. I ended up getting the smaller tub of ESSENTIAL NATURAL (made by Iron-Tek I believe? and I got vanilla cake flavor)? *I hope I will not hear a collective ~SIGH~ from you all that this is the worst one out there!!! haha * I was at the mercy of beefy sales-guy! haha
Never had it and have not tried it yet, so I will see how it goes? Anyone else ever get this one? this brand good or no? One serving is 1 scoop with 120 cals, 22g protein, 3g sugars (fructose and stevia). I am not sure that 22g protein is high enough, should I do 2 scoops? I am having a hard time getting enough protein in....I will post my nutrition today. I have been meaning to start that but over the last 4 days of tracking my eating, my highest day was only 118g protein! Every other day was less than that.....
Also, ladies....(or gentlemen?) do you take BCAA supplements too? separately from the whey I mean?

I've used the Jay Robb once. It wasn't bad. I only got it once because I've discovered that my lactose intolerance is more than an intolerance and more of a full-blown dairy allergy. I break out in a rash. I've moved on to rice protein, which isn't half bad either.

Hi, I have been using the Labrada whey protein powder in Strawberry flavor. Its instatized (sp?) so it mixes quickly and I think it tastes really good, not gritty at all. I mix 1 scoop with 8oz milk after my weight workouts. I buy it at SAVEONSUPPLEMENTS.COM: The lowest prices on BSN EAS CYTOSPORT ISOPURE LABRADA MET-RX MUSCLETECH NUTREX PRO-RX PROLAB I really like that site. They have some recommendations for powders there too.

For bars I like the Clif Builder Bar. It's 20g of protein (soy and nut), all natural, 33% organic ingredients with no artificial sweeteners. Tastes pretty good, too.
