stage three bodyweight matrix
i'm rather embarrassed to admit that i just can't get airborne for the lunge or squat jumps. please tell me that i am not alone!!
i compromised by trying to move my legs faster for a second set of lunges and squats. i had major jelly legs by the end, but wondered if there was a better way to compromise for my lack of lift (i'm a big girl, tipping the scales at 250)

I don't know if weight has anything to do with it... I'm 135 and I couldn't even get through this dang matrix! So you're definitely not alone... at least as far as I'm concerned. I'm not sure how to compensate for it... my goal is just to get better as time goes on... and to actually get through it... twice! lol

My DS could not jump last month. With his PT he got jumping over 6" high, maybe higher so I say keep at it (gonna take my own advice when I get there LOL)

This is a tough leg matrix and I'm sure you're not alone. Just plan to improve on your performance each time you do it. How you improve can be very flexible!
If you can't squat jump, you might be able to do deep wideout drops. I don't know if you'll find those better or worse! But anything that adds a springiness to your squat will be a bit closer to the squat jump. For both the squat jump and the jump lunge, limit your depth initially. Then work to improve ROM as you get more proficient.

It is brutal. I can get off the ground for the first few, but then I feel like my body won't move. I do think it is a great workout!

I used to weigh 228, now I weigh 161, and this body weight matrix is the hardest thing I have ever done. I can't get through the jump squats without a few seconds rest. this one is brutal!!!
keep at it, you will lose the weight.

I'd rather squat my body weight for reps than do this body matrix! This is the first exercise ever that made me feel so weak and helpless. My mind commands the body to jump, but my feet are 'glued' to the floor. Huh?

The bodyweight matrix scares me! And if it made Natalia feel weak and helpless I am really in for a world of hurt.

Kim, even though it might sound scary and be extremely challenging in the beginning, the body is remarkably smart and will adjust to the new challenges. <---- I gotta remind myself of this all the time. It's true though. We'll get through this!!!!

Phew! Can I just say how much better I feel reading that you felt this way? They almost killed me last night. Almost.

Ditto that! You're definitely not alone, Karen! Hubby walked in on me doing those and asked what I was doing. "Jumping," I said. He about falls over from laughing so hard.

Wow, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels better knowing Natalia had a hard time with this too! Though I would still rather do this than squat my bodyweight for reps... since I can't do even one rep of that yet and would probably somehow end up breaking my legs or something. So as I grumble to myself trying to get through the matrix today I will keep telling myself "At least you don't have to squat your bodyweight, at least you don't have to squat your bodyweight!" lol

Oh now you've just gone and killed my self esteem again natalia! lol jk. Someday I will be able to compete with your insane numbers... but for now my measley 75lb squat will have to do.
In all seriousness though, you do such an amazing job with these workouts and you really are an inspriation to many of us (I'm assuming others agree with me, hehe)
