1. Get in my garden!! I tried digging a bit the other day, but the ground was still frozen a few inches down. It's probably better now, but last week I couldn't have turned the soil!
2. Rollerblade. Of course I have to wait for the town to clear all the sand off the roads otherwise I'll end up on my face ... but it's coming!!
3. Walk. I just want to get out and get some fresh air with my kids every day. Maybe that will keep all the sickies at bay!!
4. Mountain bike. I used to go daily. Then I had kids. I hope to be able to go once a week this year. Off road. Single track. Gungagungagungagung!!!

Jane, your flowers are really beautiful! I hope to get into gardening and have the front of my home decked out with all different types of flowers someday.
Of course not in the official challenge but I really like these threads. I'm looking forward to taking walks after dinner, riding my bicycle, having picnics, doing the daily crossword on the back porch, going on the swingset at the playground next to my house, and not needing a jacket when I go outside!
Wow.. lots of gardeners in here! I for one have a very black thumb so I do not do gardening, haha. I am looking forward to playing tennis with my mom a few times this summer, and just chillen outside. I may be moving down to the DC area over the summer though so I'll have to get tennis in while I'm still up north and close to home.
And Idnae, I'm with you on the heat thing... Me and the cold do NOT go well together... I like it WARM!!!!
Bring on Spring, Baby! My house is so ready.
*Opening my windows and feeling a breeze
*taking the kids biking more this summer. We didn't get our bikes going until late in the summer last year, but we had a blast. We have tons of trails around here.
*Going on a family vacation. I want to take the kids to the beach this year. We need one.
*I would also like to go camping at least 1x, this year. We went once last year and rented a cabin for the weekend and had a really good time.
*Feeling the sun on my skin.

i can't wait to get outside and walk! i'd also like to start a garden this year - but that will be a while yet - still have more than three feet of snow in the yard. i want lots of fresh veggies and a reason to hang out in the sun! karen
Hiking! There are so many wonderful trails around here that I want to explore. I am also looking forward to getting on the beach and into the water this year. Shades, everyone will need them to avoid the glare from my white body :-0
Hiking for sure! I'm in Southern Nevada, where the weather changes very quickly from winter to summer. 2 months from now, we will probably be dealing with 100+ degree weather. Once summer hits, it's up to Mt. Charleston where it stays 30 degrees cooler.
all this talk made me open my windows and let the breeze in!!! haha I felt maybe I was taking it for granted hearing all about SNOW and sand on the streets from you all I don't like the collllllllld!
It's about 78 here today. gotta LOVVVVVVVE TEXAS!!!!
You are inspiring me to plant some flowers this spring though! And I agree with MaryGrace, Miss Jane your flowers are beautiful!!
Nikki
OH and PS, I am a complete NEWBIE when it comes to this stuff...how do you do a workout log on here? I NEEEEEED some accountability!!!

Yes, Toni! I totally forgot about hiking....mainly because last year it was our first season hiking after we moved to Charlotte,NC. Grandfather mountain is breath-taking!!! We are definitely going back to Blue Ridge Parkway soon. Last year my little girls felt like 'real' explorers. That was priceless....plus my sore butt.

I am excited about playing on my tennis team and our Saturday morning practices.
I can't wait to go camping. Last year we pitched our tent in this gorgeous spot by a stream and it was incredibly peaceful to sleep with the sound of the water flowing by. I'm really looking forward to going back.
And last but not least, our after-work motorcycle rides with an ice cream stop!
i'd forgotten about hiking too! it's been so long since we've done any and i love it. i used to backpack in my teens and spent so much time on the appalachian trail. maine is gorgeous and we did a lot when we first moved here, but that was in 2001 and we haven't done any hiking since. defiitely this year!! karen
Living in the mountains hiking around the house is year round for me, but it will be great to get out on the trails.
With warmer weather will come the return to the ultimate functional fitness, working as a stonemason. Dh & I are laying stone on the lower level of our house. Last summer we completed part of one wall plus the curved stairway. We still have about 3 years worth of work to go. Fitting in my workouts before working with rocks all day will be a real challenge.
Biking and running. I like to do a mind clense run in the warm air in the spring-fall. Also my buddies and I do bike rides that are awesome. One of them is this trail that is 40 miles loop and it is a paved bike trail through the woods!! It is too cool for words. Also Portland has some of the coolest bike paths ever. I really miss this sort of activity in the winter. Finally I will take up my long walks again as well. I love walking for 5-6 miles around my neighborhood. Ahhhh... Spring is very much here in Portland already. I even did a bike ride a little while ago.
Ahhh, I was having daydreams of the Springwater trail yesterday. I used to run all the way from downtown to Oaks Park & back; it was my favorite run and I knew I'd miss it when we moved. It's such a gorgeous trail, along the riverside. Especially when the weather's nice.
I'm not in the challenge but I'm really looking forward to walking to places that are close enough to walk to. Without a coat.

Biking, opening windows, running the stairs at Red Rocks ampitheatre (Welcome to Red Rocks), and hiking up to the glaciers to snowboard. Ok, so I'm probably one of the few here who prefers winter. But what can I say? I run outside year-round and ride my bike when the temp gets above 37.
I am really looking forward to do some bike riding. We just bought a bike trailer to tow around my daughter. I can't wait to take her to the local water parks, she is the perfect age right now.
I would like to do some hiking, we have a great lake that takes 2 hours to hike around. I used to do it a couple of times a week, but I have only been able to do it once since having my baby. It took 3 hours cause I had to stop so many times. SHe was about 5 months old and I had her in my hiking back carrier. I think next time I will leave her on the beach with her dad and I will hike around the lake.

I try to do this one at least 20 miles or so every week. It is amazing. I can't wait until it is warmer and we are hitting the trail again.
DEFINATELY ready for some camping!! Hubby and I rented cabin at the beginning of the season last year, and had such a GREAT time camping that we bought THIS:
We were out camping just about every other weekend!!!!
AND, I can't WAIT to start diggin' in the dirt! That's therapy for me! DH just calls it WORK!
And, like Leah - I can't WAIT to get out there on my motorcycle!!!!
Just enjoying walking around the city in the sun and summer heat!
Our winter has been horrible this year (just had ANOTHER snow storm last week.. well actually three last week!). I walk to school and clinic daily which ends up being around 2 hours of walking to and from, so it's so enjoyable in the sunshine, sandals and a tank top. Swimming outdoors, horseback riding outdoors (show season!)... essentially everything outdoors!!
Still have to plan that summer vacation, but here's a taste of last year when we head out to Banff, Alberta to ride through the rockies for a week followed by hiking and kayaking (a nice vacation from city life, although my mom fails to understand the joy of a vacation without electricity, showers or toilets lol).
