Default Anyone just doing this 2 days per week?

I am halfway through Stage 2 and finding that my recovery is taking longer than it did in Stage 1. I had no problems doing 3 weight workouts/week in Stage 1 but now I just seem to be more tired and achy. My eating hasn't changed, my health is fine. Could it just be that Stage 2 is more demanding? I am feeling like my legs just never totally recover.

generally there is agreement that two days a week is enough to maintain, and it takes three workouts a week to really improve. If you are a beginner you may improve with just two a week. Also, are you using appropriate weights? Maybe dropping a few pounds would make it easier. I think there is also general agreement that you shouldn't be tired and achey more than a few hours because of workouts.

Are you eating enough to support your workouts?

This is tricky to figure out sometimes because (at least for me) you're never quite sure if you really need more rest or if you are just wimping out and need to drive yourself a little harder and workout when you aren't feeling perfect to start. Tough call. When to say "I need another day" and when to say "suck it up buttercup".
I'm nearly 49 and not that consistant of an exerciser: for me, chances are about 50:50 that I need the additional day and really need the kick-in-the-ass the other times. Maybe 35:65 if I'm honest.

Lisa, yeah I can analyze it pretty well to determine if it is just a "lazy" feeling or really that I need rest. Lazy is more of a mind thing but needing rest is more of a body thing if that makes sense.

I am definitely eating enough and eating well, and getting enough sleep. I guess I will just play it by ear, aim for 3 and if it only happens twice so be it.
