I'm seriously kicking this around.

At JP's gym in Little Rock, Arkansas. JP put some info about the hotel in the thread Nick linked above. And in that thread I linked to some pictures from last year's Summit that show the facilities.

It's a real good time. For those of you that want to harrass Lou Schuler a little bit he ussually attends. I've shared a ride from the airport with him on at least two occasions and what he lacks in hair he makes up for in conversation.

There is a limit to 50 participants so make up your mind and commit over the next weeks soas to not get left out. I am commiting and just waiting for the official registration to happen. I would love to meet more of my challenge peers. Come on girls, let's outnumber the men!

Judging by the number of logs I have to wade through to get to mine that shouldn't be hard. It really is a good time. It's not nearly as awkward as you think once you get over telling everyone that you are flying to Little Rock to meet a bunch of people you hang out with on the Internet.

It would be so cool to go! I live about 3 hours away but, since I don't go anywhere without the kids, it just wouldn't work. Besides, my kids are all lushes and their drunken escapades would embarrass me.

Are there going to be any informal get-togethers outside of official summit hours/days? It would be cool to get to meet some of you crazy kooks while so many were so close!

That's the entire point!

There's nothing formal scheduled for Friday, so between gathering in JP's gym in the afternoon as everyone arrives and then going out for dinner and drinks that night, it's purely social.

We do presentations on Saturday, then more socializing Saturday night, then Sunday there's usually a hike or bike ride or something, for those who don't have to fly out early in the morning.

I'll sign books for anyone who asks (although I usually resist the urge to autograph books written by other people -- John Grisham hates when I do that), and probably bring a few to sell and autograph if anyone prefers to have a copy with my actual fingerprints on it.

(I thought I was in the other summit thread when I posted the above reply. Doh!)

Ah, very cool! I'll keep my eye on both threads as ideas develop. Hopefully at least one will be kid friendly, in which case I'll definitely be up for a road trip!

Jane,
Lori and I are also tossing around the idea of going. How crazy would it be for me to meet you there, for the 1st time?!?

That would be very cool! Have you checked on flights yet? Pretty reasonable from Cleveland, for me. I am pretty sure I can get the vacation from work. And, I can always give myself a vacation from my business. Now, it's just the puppy....what to do! I have to do some checking yet on that! She's a little to young for the place I had in mind....I need to see if they will cut her a break and let her stay there while I am gone.

I was looking at flights this morning and it looks like a round trip will be around $200, which isn't bad. I just need to talk to my Mom about helping out with my Kiddos, if DH has to work and request off from work, which won't be a problem. Quite honestly, I really want to go and if I can swing it and Lori can go, I'm there.
