Default is it okay to do the workouts 2x per week vs 3x?

i know in the original nrol you have the option of doing some of the routines 2-4x per week based on your experience/preference etc.

I dont recall the womens version offering this option, is it okay?

my schedule unfortunately doesnt allow for me to lift 3x per week at the moment.

Aside from it taking me longer to finish stage 1, do you think as long as everything else is in check and im still putting 100percent into each workout, my results will suffer?

Honestly, the "more than three is too much" is what kills me! Sometimes I wish I could lift two days in a row. Obviously, I know why we don't, but I love lifting...and I miss the weight room when I'm gone.

oh thanks! I would love to lift three times per week. Hopefully on future stages I can.


has anybody done this stage twice a week and seen results?

If you enjoy being in the weight room every day, then why not go there for the other portions of your program. Use the weight room for your energy system work, like Tabatas or circuits, instead of running or whatever you're currently doing. One day could even be used only for mobility/flexibility work. I really encourage clients who want to maintain a consistent daily schedule to show up but use the time wisely.

Hi newb! - I just finished the A6 workouts, now am starting B6 on Monday. I started out doing them 3 x's a week - but found it just too hard for recovery. I'm finding that my muscles need more than 48 hrs recovery time - especially my back muscles. So, for most of this stage I've been doing the workouts 2 x's (that's one A, and one B) with some cardio on the other days, as well as yoga once a week. I don't feel like I'm not making any progress either - I can see some progress in my arms, as well as in my lower body.

Running, ha! I'd rather poke my eyes out. I come from a family of runners and boy, did it take me a long time to realize that just because I wasn't a marathon superstar, it didn't mean I wasn't athletic or didn't enjoy sports.

I've only just heard of Tabatas since joining this forum. I'd love to hear more of your ideas about using the weight room for energy system work. Tabatas or anything else.

Stuff like this: Complexes/circuits

And if you need a day with less intensity, use that day for mobility drills, corrective movements, and static stretching.
