Default Macronutrient Ratio

I am totally confused. I see a lot of 40/30/30 in regards to macro ratios.

I took this to mean carb/protein/fat. But it looks like a lot of you are using protein/carbs/fat.

I don't have the book on me right now, but I am wondering what it says in there.

So, which is it? I feel better with 40% carbs, but maybe I am just not used to the new diet?

40 - protein, 30 - carb, 30 - fat

You really just need to figure out what works best for you and your goals, but 40/30/30 is a good place to start.

No--the 40/30/30 mentioned in the book is 40 carbs, 30 protein, 30 fat.

Of course people might have there own preferences but the book provides the this ratio as a good place for most people to be at, provides some references and info from a well known sports nutritionist doctor etc.

Thanks Lara. That is what I thought it was too, but on the forums it seemed different

Oh really? My bad. But honestly, I'm doing Precision Nutrition for food and I'm an endomorph...so 40(p)/30(c)/30(f) is what I'm supposed to be doing. Sorry about that!
