Default Rippetoe's Startinig Strength

Wow! What a wealth of knowledge in this book. It's like a total disection of the movements. I am learning so much. I'd hazard a guess, from what I've been reading, that the majority of lifters are probably not doing their deads or squats with complete proper form, at least as Rippetoe outlines. This book is a must read!

I will be really using this book as I strive to perfect my form on squats and deads, in particular.

Yep, it's at the top of my Amazon wishlist, too. I even have that cover pic of it that was floating around here as my desktop background right now. LOL (I looked for it in the local bookstore the other night but they didn't have it.)

Just added it to my wishlist. Probably pick it up in the next month or so.

Thanks for the info on the book!

It's on my wish list for nearly a year now. Might buy this one plus his other book (keep forgetting the name) as well as NROL4W in 1 buy. Shipping is cheaper that way.

It's called Practical Programming for strength training.

Exactly. I've heard Practical Programming is good for beginning and advanced athletes, not so much for intermediates.. anyone who can confirm or deny this rumour?

Today at the gym I really paid attention to everyone doing deads and squats. Only one other guy doing deads besides me and his form was off (I also was able to lift more than him, suprisingly). And the other two people doing squats were WAY WAY off on form. OMG, I wanted to say something so badly.....it was WAY bad.

I'm actually doing one of the intermediate "programs" from PP, called the "texas method". Going well so far. You can look at my log (GFH) if you want more details.
