Default Daily Run

I've been doing NRL4W for two weeks now, and I just read the final chapter, "Other Stuff You Can Do." I've got a question about it. I have to run my dog every morning, otherwise she tears up the house. I can honestly say that on the mornings after my workout, if I were to ask myself, "Do I really want to run?" the answer would be no. (Truth be told, the answer was no before I started the weights--I'm not a morning person.)

My question is, if, on the mornings after a workout day, I slow down the pace to a jog, am I allowing myself to recover enough. I do feel pretty ok about the jog after I'm done with it.

The jog is probably ok. I guess. I mean, your dog's gotta have it. So it's sort-of a moot point.

Can you inline skate or bike the dog? In the summers, I in line my super active dog on a local paved trail about twice a week. We both dig it, and the workout level is way less than running.

I plan to bike her in the summer, but there is no way I can do that right now--too cold in the mornings here for that (not to mention icy roads). In the meantime, I'm going to jog on the mornings after workout and run on the other days. That with a couple of trips to the dogpark each week should keep the pup happy.
