WAHOO!! I just "Perfect Body Diet" for...get ready for it...$0.32!!!
I popped into B&N while I was out today to see what kind of trouble I could get into there (that store is always trouble for me). I had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket with $21.29 left on it. The book was 20% off today. So the total for the book came out to $21.61. When I gave the guy my gift card, I said, "I think what's left on that is obscenely close to the total." And he checked and started laughing. He goes, "Yeah, you still owe me $0.32. I almost hate to ask you for it." I told him I didn't mind at all!
Now I'm off to start reading!!

I'd say breaking negative behavior patterns is a huge accomplishment!

And the end of week 3 is upon us. It's gone so fast, don't you think?! Pictures and stats next weekend -- can you believe it!! I wonder how many of the original participants will check in on Feb 4 with pics and stats? I noticed some participant's logs have died off or they just haven't posted since the initial start.

As I go through challenge logs today, trying to catch up with ones I've missed, I'm noticing several inactive ones, too. I haven't counted or anything but it seems like quite a few.
Btw, in my quest to further up my protein, I just sprinkled a scoop of whey over my salad and it tastes just fine. Another protein success!

I am ready to take photos on feb 3. don't anticipate much change. my nutrition has been 80-90 percent clean, however, portions likely can use some work. I hate feeling hungry. and even when I do the eating every 3 hours thing, when I eat weight loss calories with these types of workouts, I feel hungry.

I don't really anticipate much change either. I'm doing well with a few slip ups here and there, but I am doing much better than I would with out the support I get here!
I did wear a pair of jeans to work today that I haven't worn in a long time. They were still a little snug around the waist so I had a tiny bit of muffin top. But I wore a long sweater to cover that up!

I am glad to see other people feeling the same about the photos. I feel lame putting them out there because of the expectation of great results.
I think right now my transformation is mentally taking place. My willpower and courage is changing, as well as my determination. Every jack-knife I am screaming in my head "COME ON you CAN make it" Then I fight the urge to lay on the gym floor once I have completed the entire workout. Instead I drag myself to the bike for a cool down.. sometimes barely able to lift my legs over the bike.
I go back to Julie's original challenge post: "I will not look this way in 6 months!"
I hope everyone relaxes and gets a good rest to tackle WEEK FOUR!!

Actually I think the only one expecting great results are people who don't know any better. It takes some time for the body to adjust and get into the mode of loosing or gaining. I find that I never see anything for 6-8 weeks in fact. This set of photos will be a "just 'cause" set for all of us really. I think I may have gained a pound since my last one but chances are you won't see it anywhere. We'll maybe if I push out my pooch. Really, girls it's all good. The great results will come if we are persistent not right away. After all if it was easy then everyone would look like a fitness model.

Okay...I'm going to try this in homemade tuna or potato salad. I can't imagine this looking that good on plain salad because I don't use salad dressing (otherwise I'd try mixing some in it).

I know there aren't going to be any great changes in mine because I've been working on getting well more than working out the last few week and half. I've gotten a couple of good nights of sleep so I feel much better overall and am planning to lift tomorrow. I'm just going to jump in where I left off in my plan. I just feel bad because I'm now two weeks behind everyone else and it frustrates me that I want to work out and can't.
goal for right now is making sure I eat well and get plenty of sleep so that I can stay healthy!!! I'm hoping that the predinisone I'm starting tomorrow will help get the crap out of my lungs so I can be fully healed!

i can't say that i am looking for any major results next week in appearance or on the scale, but i can see definite progress in every workout. today was my fifth "a" workout for stage one, which puts me just past the halfway mark. two weeks ago i'd never done a squat or deadlift, couldn't do more than one "real" push-up and was afraid of the olympic weights. today i squatted 135, did three sets of 10 push-ups and actually managed twelve decent prone jackknifes on my third set! i felt on top of the world!
and my nutrition seems to be falling into place as well. i started the tnt diet on monday and have found it pretty easy to follow. wednesday's workout was a beast because of an energy slump that i'm attributing to the change from a glycogen-burning diet to a fat-burning diet, but i think i've rounded that corner.
it's great to read about everyone's progress and i am learning tons from all of the questions posted and the helpful replies. i think of you all when i'm toughing it out at the gym and i know i'm not alone! thanks!! karen

LOVE the avitar. I call kids "Stickies" for this reason. Don't feel so bad. I too am off many days for rest. Tonight I wanted to work out but instead am laying here in my bed on ice making sure that the swelling in my hammie goes away. We'll both still make great progress.

Visiting Day is Brutal
Well, it took me 2 hours to go through all the challenger logs. I enjoyed the unique personality of each. Seeing that I actually continued doing NROL4W, I feel bad about not joining the challenge. However, seeing that I feel remiss in not giving "hands-on" support to everyone on the team, I'd feel worse if I were on the team.
Nice work, Ladies!

I feel a lot of internal changes going on but I agree in that I seriously doubt any changes will be noticed externally this early in the game. Especially since I'm still not where I want to be eating-wise. Tweak, tweak, tweak...

I use unsweetened, unflavored, whey by the way. It gave the dressing (Greek vinegar-based one) a Caesar-ish kind of smoothness. Very nice. I told myself to think of it as parmesan cheese. But, yeah, if you don't use dressing, it might be a little funky. LOL

See I can't do protein powder on salad because it just feels so wrong for some reason. Even with a low fat dressing a salad is good clean, low cal food and then you add a couple of hundred cals to it for protein? That just doesn't fly with me mentally. If I need protein I'll make a smoothy. Salads are for fiber and vitamins.
