Joining Challenge
I'm new to the forum. I am 38 years old. I just received my book today. Will try to get it read and up to speed by this weekend. I like to hike, and work outside. I am beginning my training for a 1/2 marathon for sure by October. Maybe a full one, we'll see how the knee holds up? Anyway I will be doing ALOT of running, So I will lift 3 times a week. I also do yoga at least 3 times a week. So that is my fittness plan. As for nutrition plan. I eat healthy foods, don't watch calories to much. Just don't do sodas or snacky foods. Cook meals from scratch. Since I am running carbs are a big part along with proteins.
Again. 38
5'6"
153 lbs
I will get pictures this weekend and measurements. ugh.....
Look forward to the accountability.

I'm going to be joining in, too. I'm fighting the flu or a cold (I'm going on day 5), but I'm planning on heading to my gym near home for a body comp. on Friday--and I'll probably take pictures the same day. So, I'll post my stats/pics then. I'm pretty excited to be joining you ladies!
I'm 22 (23 on the 14th!) and currently a student at the University of Massachusetts. I'll be graduating with my B.A. in May and I'd like to whip my body into shape between now and then so I can get my diploma in the best shape of my life! I'm hoping to go on to grad. school the following fall, and it'd be nice to have my health where I want it before I embark on that next leg of my life. I've always been a "fat" person, and after a couple years, I'm down 25 pounds and a pants size--but I've got a lot of "issues" to work on. I'm hoping that adding a structured exercise program (and sticking to it) will help...and I'm hoping that by eating food at set intervals through the day that I'll stave off binge-eating tendencies that I've had for most of my life.
That's my little synopsis of myself! I'll post again on Friday with the horror of the numbers and the pictures.

IM IN !!!! Tracked my nrol4w on amazon & It's ( I hope ) going to be in the mailbox on the 5th ! YEHHHH !!!
I am 32 ,Married , 2 children 8 & 10, 5'7" , 155 lb ,Body fat 18% , I'll try to get meas. soon & pictures up if I can figure this computer out !
When I get the book , i'll decide witch eating plan to follow. 40/30/30 seems to work well for me. I try to get about 120 G pro a day ( I lose the most when I watch my low fat pro intake )
Goals : #1 ) Develop ABS and muscle tone all over ( I have the flab that won't budge , soooooooo agervating problem area ! ) MAN I sure hope there is a special section in the book for problem bellies ??? HUMMMMMM
#2) drop 11 lbs while increasing LBM & shedding 2% BF
I can not wait to start 1-7-07 !!! I was at 150 ---- then: fudge happened !! AGH I knew my book was coming soon & I gave into temptation . then, one week quickly turned onto 3 weeks of eating what ever ( gotta stop that NOW ) The last 3 weeks I have eaten worse than I have in 2 years!! OH WELL~ 2 more days , book will be here & the fun can begin !!! YIPPY Good Luck All Tanya

Ok, I'm a lurker here (check the join date with NO posts :P) and I think I might play too. Lesse how bad the pics look first! I'm 40, no kids, just cats and a kid-like hubby. I don't have much 'weight' to lose after losing about 45# a few years back on a BFL style diet, but I've still got that 'cardio queen' bod - skeletal upper, pudgy lower. Might have some extra pounds after the holidays but I weigh in on Saturday so I'll see the damage then. EEP!
I'll take pics tomorrow and we shall see. I've also got loose skin from the old weight loss so close yer eyes!
My plan: NROLW for workouts + intervals and the occasional brisk walk. I'll try to avoid the temptation to throw in extra SS cardio, but I'll probably throw in one once a week since I'm a video queen. That's MUCH better than the hour+ of cardio I do already each day!
Nutrition: I follow a 40/30/30 already and have for years + 2 moderate free meals a week. I've been maintaining (on purpose) so calories ran about 2K average, a bit more on the weekends. I'll tighten this up a bit and lop off a few hundred calories, but I have found in the past that decreasing calories too far past this level made me lose nothing and just made me cranky and hormoneless. :P I've actually done better on HIGHER calories, but I'll see what the scale and the calipers say.

I'm planning to join in as well. I am like the last person on the planet who doesn't have a digital camera so I'm going to get one of those disposables this weekend for the pictures.

Glad to see all the ladies who are planning to join ... so now post your plans, your stats, and your pictures! I'll create a spreadsheet with all participants so we can keep track of you if you disappear ... I'd love to see everyone who joins in still be participating (and POSTING) at the end of March!!

Journals go in the Training Log forum ... once Monday has come and gone, I will start a thread for weekly support, and my first post will include links to everyone's logs, so you can check in on other participants ...
And although the boys are doing a separate challenge (since they were afraid to compete against us) there is a possibility that we will have a final poll to compare their "winner" against ours ... so keep that in mind when this three months is up ... we might continue this challenge for another three months to really show them up!!!

I'm definitely game for 6 months, especially since NROL4W should take us right through that 6-month mark!
Good idea about a weekly support thread and the links to everyone's logs!

I am definitely up for 6 months. I like to approach fat loss in a slow, but steady fashion.

Absolutely!!! Although we must be kind ... remember they can see our pictures too and I wouldn't want any negative comments about my photos!

Cool. I am in. My main goal will be put a little more mass on and get shredded at the end on 6 months to like 10% body fat. Let's see if I can do it. I came pretty close to that last year, but this time I am giving NROL4W a test drive. I've been lifting bodybuilding style for 2 years. Alwyn's workouts look more functional to me - full body, compound moves, etc. I am interested to see where I am going to be without my favorite DB curls
My Stats:
At 5’8 HEIGHT
CHEST: 35 in
WAIST (narrowest point): 28 in
TUMMY (widest area): 33 in
HIP: 36.5 in
THIGHS: 20.5R/21L
CALVES: 13R/13.25L
ARMS: 11R/11L
WEIGHT: 140lbs
Body Fat: 16.3% (Omron machine. Normal Mode)
BMI: 21.8 (Omron machine. Normal Mode)
Just to let you know where I come from, 3 years ago I was pushing 200lbs with 35% body fat!
Right now I am kinda soft (especially in the tummy region) compared to last summer (But hence the NROL4W):
As far as TRAINING.....
I'll try to following the book completely. Won't do any cardio initially. I know I'll be doing spinning class once a week for sure.
NUTRITION.....
on training days there will be a bit more due to pre and post workout shakes.
My FitDay.com journal
I guess I'll have to start a journal here.......Oh, and on my 1st week this week on stage 1.

Damn, Natalia! Your "before" pics are what I want my "after" pics to look like!! So, since we are the same height, I'll be shooting for you stats! LOL!
