Default NROL4W workout 1 - done! some quetions

I just compeleted my first workout this morning and am a bit worried. I don't think I pushed myself hard enough (went a little too light). Also, the whole workout didn't take more than 30 mintues. I'm just a little worried that I'm doing something wrong and not doing "enough" and because it felt a bit "easy" (which I know I can make harder by adding more weight).

I am excited about the workouts ... I'm just worried (I tend to worry A LOT).

Any input? Anyone else started already?

THanks!

Eh, everyone needs a first workout to get into something. Besides, you may still regret it later if you haven't been lifting lately. I always begin a new program with a somewhat easy day...esp if I've had a break from lifting. If I dive in too hard, I wind up with such soreness the next day (and week) that I can't actually get in another workout till it subsides.

So increase your weight next time and don't be worried. I find a good way to find my "correct weight" if I don't currently know is to start somewhere reasonable and increase it every set if I can to get where it needs to be.
Another way is to simply try out each exercise before you dive into the workout and see what you can do.

But seriously, no need to worry. You'll pine for the days of easy soon enough.

Thanks. I have been lifting lately - actually, not "normal" lifting - rather, I did Jillian Michael's "Making the Cut" workouts ... boy were they KILLER!

Is a 30 minute weight workout enough? Even if I go heavier... I'll still be done just as quick.

Thanks!

Trust me, with Alwyn's workouts 30 minutes can be plenty

A good workout doesn't have to be long to be good!

I just finished the first week, lifting on mon, wed, fri. I ran on tue, thurs, sat. today I am taking a MUCH needed day off. I have been lifting out of NROL, so I chose challenging weights and really pushed myself for a change (I haven't really been doing that as much lately). I am sore (in a good way). I agree with everyone, starting out easier is better, but when you are ready, you won't have any issue with these workouts being challenging.

Hey Stinika --
I just joined these boards and I'm coming from exactly the same place you are; just finished "Making The Cut" and have done the first 2 workouts from NROL4W...

How did MTC work for you? How did you feel about it, what results did you see, and why are you moving on to NROL4W? (if you don't mind sharing...)

Yes, the Break-In program in NROL is like that. Roughly 30 minutes, but that's because you're doing 2 sets per exercise. But you're doing a lot of work in that 30 minutes so it balances out.
