Default Number of Sets

I am officially "de-lurking" to ask this silly question...why are the number of sets lower in NROL4W versus NROL? Is it because of the full body workouts and that the exercises are more compound movements? I guess I am asking this because I have completed Fat Loss I and II and am currently doing Hypertrophy I and have seen some fantastic gains. Would switching to NROL4W after Hypertrophy I be a bad idea or should I continue on with the Eternal Beginner program? Thank you in advance!

There's no single answer. If you're doing well with NROL, why mess with success?

If you were mostly focused on fat loss, I'd recommend switching to NROL for Women, where there's more emphasis on lower-body movements that produce more afterburn (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption, or EPOC). That's also why Alwyn chose to use fewer sets per exercise in the new book -- these movements are more fatiguing, so fewer sets go farther.

I actually started the new book monday after lifting out of the old book since feb. I have also made some great gains with NROL, but the first workout in the new book was great! I definitely did some challenging weights for the 2 sets of 15, and by the end of it, I was done. I am focused on fat loss, so I think the new book will really address this.

Thanks Lou! I have to admit that I love the improvements that I am making with Hypertrophy. A trainer at the gym even asked me where I got my lifting program because he has never seen a "girl do conventional deadlifts on her own"...hmph! I think I will finish up Hypertrophy I and then jump in NROL4W, I'm chomping at the bit to try the exercises! Thanks again for you input.
